Story

After robbing the Indian army of a shipment, Kabir (Prithviraj Sukumaran) murders a few soldiers. Because the package contains sensitive information, the security of the country is at jeopardy. Review

The film delivers on its promise that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will have the best action scenes, and for good reason. Craig Macrae did a fantastic job designing the action set pieces, and they appear quite nice on screen. The one action block that precedes the intermission is a visual extravaganza that establishes the tone for the second part.

Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar both do decent jobs in their roles. They worked very hard on the action blocks, which are easily seen on screen. Their easygoing banter and chemistry sort of redeem the movie. Even though there isn’t much going on in terms of the plot, the first half does contain some entertaining moments.

From a director who has made successful commercial films, such as Ali Abbas Zafar, it is disheartening to witness such a subpar work. Despite being a fantastic actor, Prithviraj Sukumaran fails to leave an impression due to the drab script. The addition of technology-related elements was an attempt by the creators to spice up the formulaic tale, but it barely made an impact.

Without a doubt, the action scenes and scope are enormous, but a compelling storyline is necessary for a movie to work, and this one fell flat. If the movie maintains its level of entertainment, the tried-and-true formula might succeed. However, the second half of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan completely lacks any entertainment value.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is an average product overall; the action works, but the narrative falls flat. The chemistry between Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar elevates the first half of the film to a watchable level. However, as the antagonist’s past is disclosed, the movie starts to get monotonous and predictable. The second half is utterly devoid of entertainment. It’s the bad writing that makes Prithviraj Sukumaran look unimpressive. Bollywood is producing a lot of these patriotic movies, but in order to sustain this genre, they need to come up with new concepts. The movie may initially gain from the Eid season at the box office, but after the holidays are done, it will be hard to maintain.
