Iratta Movie in iBOMMA. Malayalam films have always been intelligently told stories. Here is an example of a movie that has gained social media attention since it began streaming on Netflix. Iratta, a movie starring Joju George and directed by Rohit Krishnan, is the topic at hand.
Vinod’s (Joju George) murder in a police station serves as the movie’s opening scene. Three police officers with a troubled history with Vinod are now the main suspects after Vinod was shot three times. As if that weren’t enough, Vinod’s identical twin Pramod shows up and joins the team conducting the inquiry. Who killed Vinod, and will his brother Pramod track down the killers, are the central questions in the Iratta narrative.
Joju George plays the main lead and he is shown in a double role. Though there is no similarity look-wise, Joju makes sure he plays the two characters differently. The screenplay shifts back and forth in time and the naive difference in character are brought out superbly by Joju George. The transformation of Joju from Vinod to Pramod and handling both roles with ease is the best part of the film. Jithu Ashraf who played a pastor deserves a special mention.
Iratta marks the directorial debut of writer/screenwriter Rohit Krishnan. The movie begins off as an investigative thriller before switching over. The writing is excellent, but the screenplay truly shines because it grips the viewers to their seats. The editing by Manu Antony is excellent and doesn’t drag on with unnecessary sequences. The dramatic setting devised and the cinematography used by Vijay are both excellent. Although Jakes Bijoy’s music is good, his background soundtrack, which gives the narration fire, was more successful.
A police station serves as the movie’s setting, according to director Rohit. The tension component in the movie is immediately built up since the main protagonist dies at the police station and the suspects are three police officers. Additionally, Rohit makes care to follow the pattern of a linear script when narrating the dual storylines of the brothers. The narrative jumps back and forth in time, yet the audience never loses track of what the filmmaker is attempting to convey.
There are several questions that the listener asks itself during the narrative, which in a way is quite positive. Iratta’s strong ending, which leaves the spectator feeling good once the movie is over, is its strongest feature, nevertheless. All of the problems with the movie are resolved by the family drama and the two brothers’ dramatic performance at the end. Rohit Krishnan, the director, did a good job with this portion.
The finest aspect of the movie is also the competent performances of the supporting cast. Joju Joseph, who has played several cop roles in the past, is a completely different actor in Iratta, which adds to the intrigue of the sibling drama. The film takes place over the course of only one day, and the spectator is treated to some excellent revelations. Well-executed strong emotions and the reasons for the brothers’ struggles.
The director’s commitment to the story and lack of time wastage is the greatest aspect. However, the research portion eventually slows down, and the moments leading up to the climax get monotonous. With the exception of this, Iratta has a distinctive setting, excitement, and an exciting ending, making it worthwhile to see.
