Story
A bunch of Manjummel pals go on a trip to Kodaikanal in 2006. Their opposing gang frequently travels and lives life to the fullest. Inspired by this, the Manjummel Boys set out to visit Guna Cave in Kodaikanal. During their tour, one of the friends trips and falls into Devil’s Kitchen, a deep pit. Nobody has survived a fall into that gorge. The movie is about the Manjummel Boys and how they saved their comrade.

It’s not easy to adapt real-life stories for the big screen. It takes a lot of commitment to portray real-life situations in an engrossing way in survival thrillers such as Manjummel Boys. Chidambaram, the director, crafts a compelling story that focuses mostly on human emotions, with friendship taking center stage.
We don’t see those images in great depth when one of the friends falls into the abyss. However, when that scenario is portrayed in the second half, we will tremble in our seats. We shall feel a lump in our throats because it actually happened. The movie takes off when the friends arrive at Kodaikanal.
We really get to know Subhash’s character in this scene because of how masterfully the childhood parts are connected to the big tragedy.
Bravo to the production design team for creating a gorgeous, incredibly realistic-looking set piece (Partions that take place inside the pit). We’ll be gripped from start to finish by the entire rescue operation. This was made possible by Shyju Khalid’s amazing visuals and Shusin Shyam’s brilliant background score. Theaters will undoubtedly erupt with the beautiful music “Priyathama Neevachata Kusalama” placed there.
The finest thing about the movie is that it shows Subhash’s experience after the tragedy instead of ending with the rescue mission. Manjummel Boys therefore gets bonus points for looking at this topic.
