Review

Suriya gives a committed performance, wearing several outfits that fit the chronology of the narrative. He adds energy to important emotional situations and is credible in action-packed scenes.

On film, Pooja Hegde exudes elegance. She doesn’t have many opportunities to demonstrate her acting abilities, despite the fact that her role is important to the storyline.

Joju George does a respectable job within the parameters of his position. As the erratic adversary, Vidhu makes an impression and heightens the suspense in the second part.

The single-shot scene before and after the Kannamma song is noteworthy, as are several of the action scenes that are done excellently. More significantly, the music of Santhosh Narayanan gives many scenes more vitality and emotional impact. The supporting cast does fairly well.

The plot is unclear and attempts to balance a number of genres, including action, romance, and others. The viewer is left perplexed by Karthik Subbaraj’s main point as the film shifts from a love narrative to a criminal drama and back again in the pre-climax.

One of the main problems is the narrative grasp. The movie had an interesting beginning but soon loses steam. The experience is disappointing, especially in the second half, which seems rambling and unfocused.

Conclusion

Overall, Retro is a love-action drama that has moments of greatness but struggles with execution. The film’s confused narrative and lackluster second half detract from Suriya’s acting and soundtrack, which are unquestionably strong points. inevitably, what seemed promising inevitably fades. Others could find it challenging to remain involved, except from Suriya devotees. If you watch it at all, do it with reasonable expectations.
